She worked as an Associate Architect from 1996 to 2006 with an Architectural firm called Rachana Niket – proprietor with Ar. Nikhil Pandya.
She joined the School of Architecture and Design, Navrachana University in June 2011.
Education
Shalini completed her Bachelor of Architecture from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
She has set up a Material Laboratory in the SEDA building, which houses all the building materials and materials for interiors for the enhancement of material knowledge in students. This lab not only helps in giving students an idea of the variety of materials available in the market, but also teaches the basic know how of the material itself.
She is a permanent member and has been actively involved in the IIID (Indian Institute of Interior Design), a group of Vadodara Chapter. She is a permanent member of KAA (Kalabhavan Architect’s Alumni).
Apart from this, she has been anchoring presentations and seminars for IIID, Vadodara Chapter and has also anchored an International Architect’s seminar and presentation sponsored by Century Ply in Mumbai.
She has been on the panel of judges for Air India program LEAD, promoting excellence in education.
She takes Design Studio, Basic Design Studio for Architecture and Interior Design students.
She also teaches a subject called Professional Practice for Architecture and Interior Design students.
